China Restaurant Hui Feng
About This Spot
Stepping into China Restaurant Hui Feng in the heart of Vienna’s Meidling district, you immediately sense a calm yet inviting rhythm. It’s the kind of place where the space feels generous and unhurried, allowing each visit to unfold naturally—whether you arrive for a quick weekday lunch or a relaxed evening gathering. The modest warmth in the lighting and the soft murmur of conversation give the room a welcoming pulse without ever feeling forced or overstyled.
The atmosphere proudly balances tradition with approachable comfort. It’s a spot where laughter might rise over shared plates and the quiet contentment of savoring familiar flavors alike. The attentive yet unobtrusive service gently complements this mood, guiding guests through the experience as if introducing a long-cherished family recipe. Conversation flows easily here, enhanced by the subtle clinks of glasses—perhaps a local wine or a chilled Chinese beer—adding to the convivial calm.
Food at Hui Feng echoes this spirit of thoughtful simplicity and generous hospitality. The buffet offers an array that speaks of variety and freshness, from lighter vegetable soups and crisp salads to richly spiced poultry dishes that carry the delicate balance of familiar sweetness and spice. The rice and noodles, staples crafted with care, serve as comforting anchors amidst the varied flavors, while occasional surprises like a delicately flambéed dessert gently close the meal on a sweeter note. Portions arrive generously sized, inviting leisurely sharing and the kind of satisfied fullness that encourages lingering just a little longer.
Here, the experience goes beyond just dining—it is about moments of quiet joy and connection. From the ease of walking in almost any time of day to find a welcoming table, to the natural way staff move through the room with smiles and soft explanations, Hui Feng feels like a place crafted with genuine care and a deep respect for those who come through its doors. For locals and visitors alike, it’s less about the claim of being exceptional, and more about the honest pleasure of returning to something comfortably familiar, yet always a little warm.

Very nice restaurant with big space and a good selection of lunch buffet. I went there for weekdays lunch at 8,90€. Friendly service and they always top-up freshly cooked dishes. Maybe would be nice if they could provide disposable gloves during the pandemic. There’s sanitizers everywhere in the restaurant as well. Overall recommended!

This is an excellent restaurant with great food and service. The Gan Bian Rind was slightly sweeter than expected but was still super delicious.

We went to eat today (4 adults and a child). Very delicious food. Especially dishes, marked as spicy. Very large portions that we were not able to eat. Service incredibly friendly, showing and explaining. Good Chinese beer. At the end we got fortune cookies, very fitting ;) All the best to the owner and others in the service :)

The most wonderful Chinese restaurant in Wien! Very cosy and traditional in a good manner. Prices are more than great, portions are huge! Staff was very helpful and polite! I couldn't recommend it more

Overall had a really great experience. Ordered the tofu with vegetables and it was delicious. I also got the vegetable soup and it was pretty good too. The service was also very quick. I went when they opened for dinner at like 5:30, and I was done dinner and left by like 6:00. Pretty good value for the food. Would recommend

Fantastic food and atmosphere! Pretty reasonably priced too. I was the only person in my group who spoke German, and the staff only spoke German and Chinese, but they were very friendly and gave us English menus and told us to write down our orders. The food was fantastic, and they gave us shots of hot wine before we left, which I thought was a nice touch.
